Job Title: Apprentice Sales Advisor

Reporting To: Branch Manager

What you’ll be doing
Working as part of the Personal Lines Branch Sales team, you will be provided with a comprehensive Apprentice Training Programme, in conjunction with Belfast Met, to support you to achieve your Level 2 / 3 Apprenticeship in Financial Services and with practical on the job training to enable you to sell personal lines insurance products, such as car, home, caravan, van, travel, etc. to our customers throughout Northern Ireland.

During, and on completion of your Apprenticeship Training programme you will be able to provide knowledgeable, tailored advice on our full range of products, including selling these within company set sales targets and managed through various performance metrics. You will also assist customers with their queries to include making changes to their policies and looking after their renewals the following year.

Your responsibilities

  • Providing expert and timely advice to new and existing customers regarding their personal insurance needs.
  • Providing quotations and setting up new policies, as well as dealing with policy adjustment and policy renewals.
  • Identifying all sales opportunities to identify any additional insurance products customers may benefit from.
  • Dealing with customer queries and complaints in accordance with company procedures, calmly and with empathy.
  • Achieving personal monthly targets whilst maintaining the correct standards of work and quality and as required by the Financial Conduct Authority (our regulator).

General Duties

Your role at a glance
It is a very customer focused sales role with the provision of exceptional customer service at the heart of everything you do and you will be working towards individual, and company set monthly targets.

Remuneration and Conditions of Employment

  • Initially, this is an 18 month Apprentice role. Once you have successfully completed your Apprentice Training Programme (and have attained your NVQ Level 2 qualification in Financial Services) you will be offered a permanent contract as Sales Adviser. We will also further support you to complete your NVQ Level 3 qualification in Financial Services.
  • Generous starting salary, increasing after 12 months and again upon completion of NVQ.

  • Liaise and negotiate with insurers to provide customer quotations accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Act as first point of contact for our customers providing an excellent customer experience.
  • Achieving monthly set targets by renewing, up-selling and cross-selling our products and services.
  • Where necessary, visit clients and explore their requirements, identifying any potential for other business and notifying the relevant departments of these opportunities.
  • Identify and pursue marketing opportunities to generate business leads.
  • Liaise with the rest of the team, providing assistance where necessary.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with existing and new clients, insurers or providers and brokers.
  • Ensure quotations are logged in and out, with administration well organised and accounts settled accordingly.
