What Is A Green Card?
29 October 2019
We know there are a lot of questions at the moment around green cards - do you need one? Where can I travel to and how long for? So we have put together a brief overview of where things are.
First of all, a green card is simply proof of insurance - there is no change to your insurance policy.
What about Brexit?
As your insurance broker, we are reviewing the Brexit developments on a regular basis and will update this status accordingly should the landscape change further in coming days and weeks.
Travelling to the Republic of Ireland or EU before the 31st January 2020?
A Green Card is not required for travel up to the 31st January 2020. However, should you be travelling to RoI or the EU before the 31st January and still plan to be away during the 31st January period, we advise you to please contact our Customer Service Department on 03452 303030 in advance of travel.
Travelling to the Republic of Ireland or EU after the 31st January 2020?
If there is a no-deal Brexit, as your insurance broker, will be issuing Green Cards to customers on behalf of our panel of insurers, should you require one. If you plan to travel after this time, please contact our Customer Service Department on 03452 303030 in advance and we will arrange to issue a green card to you. You should make the request at least 5 working days before you travel to allow time for the green card to be issued.
